Arasti is an icy, low-population world, with a population less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.
- Its surface is ice-capped with nearly all of its water frozen.
- This is a cold world with an overall climate that is at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Orret Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- The supergiant primary star of the Demon's Eye system and the huge Demon's Eye Nebula that surrounds it, lying around 6 parsecs to spinward-coreward, are clearly visible in the sky.

System Data
Momon-Arasti System
The primary is Momon, a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) Mestino, a small gas giant: (IIIc) Arasti is its second satellite and is designated the mainworld, (IV) a large gas giant, and (V) an exotic atmosphere radworld form the inner part of the outer system. Orbital positions (VI) through (X) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (XI) a sparse icy planetoid belt forms the outer part of the outer system.
Galid Subsystem
The companion is Galid, a dim red subdwarf star. It orbits Momon at a distance of 18.7 AU (orbital position (IX), 2.79 billion km) and has an orbital period of 140 years. It has a luminosity of 0.00006 Sols, a mass of 0.058 Sols, and a diameter of 73,700 km. (I) a vacuum iceworld, (II) a small ice giant, (III) a vacuum worldlet, and (IV) a trace atmosphere worldlet form the outer system.
(III) Mestino
(III) Mestino is a small gas giant that orbits Momon at a mean distance of 0.68 AU (101.7 million km), within the outer system, and has an orbital period of 356 days 0 hours. It has a diameter of 22,000 km and is a banded yellow-green colour. It retains a family of three major satellites of which the second, (IIIb) Arasti, is designated the mainworld.
Mainworld Data
(IIIb) Arasti
(IIIb) Arasti is the second of the three major moons of (III) Mestino and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 12 diameters (264,000 km), with an orbital period of 25 days 15 hours: it is tidally locked to Mestino. The axial tilt is 3 degrees relative to Mestino. Arasti has a diameter of 4,615 km, a density of 3.88 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.26 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Mestino cause occasional geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Trace, with a mean surface pressure of 0.09 bar and a composition of 83% carbon dioxide (CO2), 13% nitrogen (N2), 2% methane (CH4), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon monoxide (CO), water vapor (H2O), oxygen (O2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Around 8% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice. Mean surface temperature: -108°C. The climate is rated as Frigid and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is ethereal and weak weather systems driven by the star ghost across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 67 million km², Land surface area: 62 million km², Water surface area: 5 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Momon-Arasti System
No world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Arasti has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level
Arasti possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World government
Arasti has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
