The Aquan are a Human chimera native to Akiva (Dagudashaag 0935). Aquans are sometimes known as Aquamorphs in other parts of Charted Space.

Physical sophontology

Aquans were genetically engineered by a Solomani geneering company from normal human stock in order to allow colonization of high gravity, water worlds. Derived from a similar stock to the Scania, the Aquans are fully adapted for living in oxygen-bearing oceans.

Aquans genetic adaptions include a gill in their throat and back. This has rendered the Aquans without Human style speech. The Aquan's have developed a complex sign language, called Na.
