Ankheal has both an unbreathable thin atmosphere and a lack of surface water making habitation by sophonts difficult. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Gimushi Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Ankheal, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

History and Background

As Kenrasda (Empty Quarter 1436)'s food shortages started to become a significant problem, this system (actually only 1.89 light years away) was colonized in an effort to start up an agricultural community. The best technology and machinery was made available and ice asteroids were diverted toward the surface to provide water. Sadly, most of these have broken up before reaching the planet for some unknown reason and efforts at growing food have been poor at best.
