History & Background (Dossier)

A local anesthetic can completely deaden a particular body part, such as a tooth or a limb.

A general anesthetic will render the patient unconscious and physically insensitive.

An overdose of anesthetics will stop vital functions such as breathing and the heart, resulting in death.
