Ammert is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Alasim Subsector of Halcyon Sector.
- Ammert is a Voluntarily Regressive World
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It is a part of the Bright Peninsula.

System Data
Holben-Ammert System
The primary is Holben, an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 3.042 Sols, a mass of 1.248 Sols, and a diameter of 1.845 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, (II) a trace atmosphere inner world, (III) a dense atmosphere stormworld, and (IV) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (V) Ammert orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VII) a small gas giant, (VIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (IX) a large gas giant, and (X) a ringed gas giant. Many of the worlds in the system retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(V) Ammert
(V) Ammert is designated the mainworld. It orbits Holben at a mean distance of 1.62 AU (242.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 309 days and a rotation period of 29.5 hours. The axial tilt is 23 degrees. Ammert has a diameter of 8,520 km, a density of 4.98 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.61 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.09 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The atmospheric taint is caused by trace contaminants of organic origin that produce a psychological response in humans. Approximately 43% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 28°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Warm and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe.
Satellite
Ammert retains a single natural satellite, a very thin atmosphere hospitable world named Prosett:
- (Va) Prosett (UWP Y323000-0, orbiting at 11 Diameters/94,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 228 million km², Land surface area: 130 million km², Water surface area: 98 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Holben-Ammert System
Ammert, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
- Prosett, Ammert's temperate marginally hospitable moon, has extensive native life, consisting of minute multicellular organisms that can be found in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (VI) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Ammert has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level
Ammert possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World government
Ammert is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
