Aaki has a population between 10,000 and 10 million sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Shallows Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Aaki, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Arker Ig.

History and background

The original Lancian colony on Aaki was almost completely decimated in 78 during the Vilani Pacification Campaign and thousands of Makhidkarun colonists were resettled on the world.

Aaki however failed to make an impact as an industrial base and, rather than pull out, it was finally decided by Makhidkarun to use the planet as their local financial and administrative debt collecting capital, the Aaki-Makhidkarun Financial Services (AMF) corporation.

Vilani megacorporation Zirunkariish has offices and a major trading clearinghouse on Aaki. Aaki-Makhidkarun Financial Services is a significant client of Zirunkariish.
