A'a'suni is a moderate population world, too many sophonts to be an agricultural world but not enough to be an industrial world. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. This a low technology world with technology competency below the standard for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Pact Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. A'a'suni, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdoms of a marquis and a viscount. All four are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. This is the homeworld of the Athar, a Minor Race. During the Long Night this world was named Iris.

While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

History & Background (Dossier)
The world is actually run by a bureaucracy divided into a number of Councils, all concerned with different aspects of life on A'A'Suni. Some of the most important include the Council of the Environment, the Council of Provision, and the Council of Defense. Usually a single extended family forms the core of a Council, and is headed by the leader of the family.

This world has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.
