5th Fleet
The 5th Fleet is the Numbered Imperial fleet stationed in the Mimu Subsector.
Description (Specifications)
The present Fifth Fleet under Admiral Chii'ekak is a miracle of interracial cooperation and organisation. A mixed-race fleet crewed by sophonts with differing environmental needs is fully as effectve as its single-race counterparts. [1]
There are thirteen ScoutRons in support of the subsector fleet. The thirteen Scout Bases provide ample logistical and reconnaissance for the fleet. The eight Naval Bases support an equal number of task-forces and squadrons.

History & Background (Dossier)
Overview: The Imperial Fifth Fleet is considered one of the most famous units of the Empire's naval forces. Given its prestige designation by Emperor Martin III following superlative service by S'mrii star faring units in quelling the Ilelish Revolt of 418 to 435, the Fifth Fleet is a symbol of the Imperial trust placed in S'mrii stability and good intentions. Its existence also silences those critics who accuse the Imperium of humano-centrism, and poor treatment of minor races. A Reinforced Strike Fleet of significantly greater offensive power than the surrounding subsector fleets, the Fifh has often been deployed on 'flag—flying' missions elsewhere in Vland Domain.[1]
