125th Fleet
Numbered Imperial fleet stationed in Dunmag Subsector.
History
Era: Fourth Frontier War to Regency
The 125th Fleet was heavily involved in the extended skirmish known as the Fourth Frontier War
Before the Fifth Frontier War, the 125th was stationed in Jewell Subsector.
The 125th fought in the Fifth Frontier War, being the longest continuously engaged Imperial unit. It was cut off early on by Zhodani and spent the war under siege in the Jewell (Spinward Marches 1106) system until its breakout in 1110.
In the post-war fleet reshuffle it was shifted to Dunmag Subsector.
This was the smallest fleet in the Deneb Sector in 1116
Era: Regency and after
The 125th backs up the 183rd Fleet in the Frontier, and its forces have been called upon many times to assist their neighbors in fighting Vampire incursions. This assistance has even included patrols as far as the Million Subsector.
Namidshur Subsector was a largely backwater subsector prior to the Civil War and Virus, and its infrastructure and local institutions were less than able in absorbing large numbers of Human and Vargr refugees. The 125th has played a major role in providing shelter and security for both refugees and their adopted homeworlds, creating a strong bond between local civilian communities and the fleets personnel. In return for this strong support, 125th units are often fanatical in their defense of local worlds against Pirates and Vampire Ships.
Officers of the 125th were heavily implicated in the Blacklight Plot of 1180 and much of its officer corps was purged as a result.
