System Data[edit]

Astrax-Thermyn System[edit]

The primary is Astrax, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.994 Sols, a mass of 1 Sol, and a diameter of 1.366 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere inner world, (II) an exotic atmosphere radworld, and (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (IV-I) Thermyn, designated the mainworld, and (IV-II) a dense atmosphere hospitable world, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (V) a dense atmosphere stormworld, (VI) a dense stony planetoid belt, (VII) a large gas giant, and (VIII) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Horst Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Horst, a dwarf star that lies approximately 2,650 AU from Astrax. It has a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.11 Sols, and a diameter of 8,450 km. It does not retain a planetary system.

Haradin Subsystem[edit]

The far companion is Haradin, a dim red main sequence star that lies approximately 5,800 AU from Astrax. It has a luminosity of 0.007 Sols, a mass of 0.331 Sols, and a diameter of 498,000 km. (I) a trace atmosphere radworld, (II) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (III) a small gas giant (IV) a ringed small ice giant, and (V) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(IV-I) Thermyn[edit]

(IV-I) Thermyn is designated the mainworld. It orbits Astrax at a mean distance of 0.91 AU (136.1 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 317 days 2 hours and a rotation period of 39.5 hours. The axial tilt is 34 degrees. Thermyn has a diameter of 13,004 km, a density of 5.77 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.07 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 1.08 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 67% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: 28°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Thermyn retains a single natural satellite, a very thin atmosphere hospitable world named Krell:

(IV-Ia) Krell (known UWP ?434???-?, orbiting at 30 Diameters/390,000 km)

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 707 million km², Water surface area: 474 million km², Land surface area: 233 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Thermyn, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

  • Krell, Thermyn's hospitable moon, has primitive native life, consisting almost entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV-II) (within the habitable zone) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold stormworld lying in orbital position (V) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
