System Data

The primary is an unnamed ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 2.584 Sols, a mass of 1.196 Sols, and a diameter of 1.742 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (II) a vacuum inner world, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IV) Vycona, designated the mainworld. (V) a dense atmosphere hospitable world orbits within the habitable zone. (VI) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VII) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VIII) a ringed very large gas giant, and (IX) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data

(IV) Vycona

(IV) Vycona is designated the mainworld. It orbits the primary at a mean distance of 1.14 AU (170.5 million km), within the H– region of the inner system. It has an orbital period of 1 year 41 days and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 17 degrees. Vycona has a diameter of 14,912 km, a density of 5.99 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.27 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.65 bar and a composition of 79% nitrogen (N₂), 20% oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Vycona is a water world, with approximately 99.4% of the surface covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 1.2m. Mean surface temperature: 23°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Vycona retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Chisp:

Vycona, the mainworld, lying within the H– region of the inner system, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (V) (within the habitable zone) has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (VI) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has extensive native life, consisting of minute multicellular organisms that can be found in most ecological niches. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
