Vland Subsector is Subsector G of Vland Sector.
- It forms part of the Imperium, lying within the Domain of Vland.
- It is located within Charted Space.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Vland Subsector is one of the oldest settled regions of Charted Space. It is the Vilani homeland and was the heart of the Ziru Sirka. More than 5000 years before the Vilani Imperium came into being, Vilani explorers reached neighbouring star systems using sub-lightspeed ships.
- It is considered to be an Imperial heartland.
- It has been settled and developed for millennia.
Astrographic Features[edit]
The following astrographic features and trade routes can be found within this subsector:
- It is a standard stellar density region.
- The brightest star is the white main sequence primary of the Dusu system.
- Xboat Hubs are located at Vland, Tauri, Flire, Uri, and Kagush.
- Most worlds within the subsector lie on the Vilani Main.
Stellar Distribution[edit]
A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Vland Subsector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.
Trade Routes (Economic Astrography)[edit]
One major trade route dominates the region:
The Vilani Main[edit]
The Vilani Main, the mighty trade artery of the Ziru Sirka, includes almost all of the systems within the subsector. Only a few worlds lying at its center are not members: they are correspondingly backward and underdeveloped.
- High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.
Subsector Summary[edit]
Vland, subsector G of Vland contains 34 worlds with an estimated population of 226 billion, a per capita income of Cr8,231, and a total economy is BCr1,860,325. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr28,809 through 28 starports (9 Class A, 9 Class B, 10 Class C, 0 Class D) employing 9,053,815 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, four Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, five Rich (Ri) worlds, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Vland maintain nine Naval bases, and three Scout bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 13). The highest technology level is 15 at Vland (Vland 1717) and Tauri (Vland 1817).
Vland, subsector G of Vland contains 48 stars and 344 identified planets; 20 monostellar systems, 14 binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 19 of the 34 systems (55%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, four Desert (De) worlds, two Garden (Ga) worlds, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, five Poor (Po) worlds, three Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.
Vland has an estimated population of 226 billion distributed across eight High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 12 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, six Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ansin (Vland 2412), Khula (Vland 1919), Flire (Vland 2111), Vland (Vland 1717), and Tahaver (Vland 2017). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including two native sophonts.
