Treaty of Gemstar

An agreement signed between the Solomani Confederation and the worlds of Dagir, Cloudia, and Gemstar in the Alpha Crucis Sector.

In the last months of the Solomani Rim War, these three worlds -- two of them high-population -- attempted to jointly secede from the Solomani Confederation. They may have hoped that the Imperial Navy would support them but if so they mistimed their insurrection. The Armistice halted the war with the Imperial Navy three parsecs away. However, the Solomani Confederation didn't have enough fighting strength left to reduce Dagir's heavy planetary defences and Cloudia's fortified asteroids. Instead, the Confederation signed a separate peace. The Treaty of Gemstar established the worlds in question as Solomani client states with guaranteed internal self-rule but with restrictions on planetary naval forces and foreign policy.
