Traveller Wiki Editorial Team (2017)[edit]

You're not part of the Traveller Wiki Editorial team? That seems sad, you work so hard at it.

  • Also, the decision was not to include a "Sources" template / References section on the publications articles. Usually because the only source was the publication itself.

I've been removed as member of the Editorial team? Yes, please, I would like to be returned to the editorial team.
The contributors to the publication articles should be the editorial team. So listing yourself separately seems to indicate you are not part of that team. Which is what confused me. It was also why we never put the Template:Sources into the publications article, it was assumed that the Editorial team were the whole set of contributors.
Just trying to keep up with all the changes.

You were never removed. I just didn't want to add you without your permission.

  • I put the ed team on to account for all user contributions. I didn't want to put their names down without their permission.
  • I put myself on separately just because. I do work hard at tit and it didn't seem unwarranted.
  • Thank you for your comments and attention to deal with a faster paces of development, improvements, and changes than the past decade.
  • I have sympathy for what must be a breakneck pace. I mostly push because I want the greater part of development to be completed within Marc's life time so he can enjoy it. The previous pace wan't going to meet that goal post.

It's just an (another) unexpected change of policy. The previous contributors never felt they needed to be that assertive about their contributions. But I can understand why you are doing so.

Having the greater part of development done quickly implies there is an end date to the wiki. It might work better if we had a plan to focus on areas of specific deficits or of specific interest. Do you have recommendations? Tjoneslo (talk) 15:20, 24 December 2017 (EST)

My big goals are to:

  • Provide a top-notch research resource to fuel further development.
  • Provide baseline astrography to fuel further development (...as full a range of planets as possible).
  • After that I am flexible.
  • Having done projects like this before, I let development happen as organically as possible. I watch what fans like and build that into the layouts, templates, etc.
  • You've done and continue to do an amazing job, which I really appreciate. I am really open to further working with you and further empowering and developing your ideas. I very much want to see you further published.
  • As much as anything, I pick an area and develop it by biting off small chunks. Part of the TD series. A subsector. Other topics. I believe that it's better to get down a placeholder than to do nothing. Placeholders can be later developed. That doesn't work so well with nothing. It's a mantra used by successful artists.
