Subalec is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Xelan Subsector of Far Home Sector.
- It is a Voluntarily Regressive World
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- This world is a part of the False Bridge Trace.

System Data[edit]
Seceret-Subalec System[edit]
The primary is Seceret, an ordinary orange main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.352 Sols, a mass of 0.774 Sols, and a diameter of 1.168 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world – orbital position (I) is empty. (III-I) a dense atmosphere stormworld, and (III-II) Subalec, designated the mainworld, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world forms the outer system. All of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(III-II) Subalec[edit]
(III-II) Subalec is designated the mainworld. It orbits Subalec at a mean distance of 0.82 AU (122.7 million km), within the outer edge if the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 308 days 7 hours and a rotation period of 24 hours. The axial tilt is 19 degrees. Subalec has a diameter of 10,256 km, a density of 5.22 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.76 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.49 bar and a composition of 76% nitrogen (N2), 22% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapor (H2O), ozone (O3), carbon monoxide (CO), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by allergenic spores and pollens of organic origin. Approximately 54% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: -8°C. The climate is rated as Cold and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is slow and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe.
Satellite[edit]
Subalec retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Codor:
- (III-IIa) Codor (UWP Y200000-0, orbiting at 9 Diameters/95,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 330 million km², Water surface area: 183 million km², Land surface area: 147 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Seceret-Subalec System[edit]
The hot marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (II) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
Subalec, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World starport[edit]
Subalec has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World technology level[edit]
Subalec possesses a Technology Level of TL–4.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone and telegraphs, widespread printing.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early electricity, hydrocarbon internal combustion.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Trains and early automobiles.
- Water: Clippers and steam ships.
- Air: Dirigibles, balloons, very basic rockets.
World government[edit]
Subalec is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.
