Shushguum is a poor, nonindustrial hellworld with a population struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.
- Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often form intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Vland Subsector of Vland Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
- Shushguum is located on the Vilani Main.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Shushguum has a solitary primary star.
- It is a yellow main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x6 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
- x4 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Shushguum is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Shushguum has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Respirator Combination Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Shushguum has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Shushguum has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- The world is host to an Imperial Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shushguum has a population of 900,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Shushguum possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Shushguum has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shushguum has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Shushguum, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.

- Resources: D (very abundant)
- Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)
- Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
- Efficiency: +1 (average)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 5 (harmonious)
- Acceptance: 6 (aloof)

Traveller's Tour Monthly[edit]
Shushguum (B522577–B) is a dusty, stormy, unpleasant landscape with two significant communities, each surrounded by supporting communities and facilities such as mining. The world has an ongoing orbital proximity to the inner planetoid belt, and suffers asteroid collisions even now. One large crater has significant lanthanum deposits, and has been a regional supplier for centuries. Suspicion that the asteroid had brought the lanthanum led to a boom in belt prospecting which has produced sporadic Rishes at best.
The two cities, combinations of fully sub-surface construction and heavily reinforced domes, do not agree on planetary priorities or governance, leading to the world being classfied as Balkanized. The city near the downport is pro-Imperial, and controls the lanthanum deposits. The other city, located farther from the port, is more isolationist.
