Shurkar is a low-population, nonindustrial world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- As a nonindustrial world, It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Kupid Subsector of Mendan Sector.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Shurkar (Mendan 0917) holds a small colony that has long held out against becoming part of any interstellar state.
- The approximately 900 settlers all belong to the same religious cult, that promotes the use of cybernetic technology to extend sophont lifespans by replacing failing body parts with their cybernetic equivalents. The colonists have a number of functional spacecraft, and trade regularly for spare parts and raw materials on Lerigem.
- Good defensive installations, their small size and perhaps their strange customs have protected the colony from Vargr corsairs. Indeed some corsairs, having suffered the loss of a body part in battle, have been known to become believers in order to acquire access to replacement cybernetics.
- Believers in this sort of cult are known as Here-techs.
- There is the equivalent of a military base here.
World Starport[edit]
Shurkar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Technology Level[edit]
Shurkar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government[edit]
Shurkar is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
