Remnants Subsector: As its name suggests, this subsector has the last remnants of sparsely populated wilderness in what is otherwise a heavily settled and civilized sector. It is a region of stark contrasts. The high-tec orbital complex of the Ducal palace at D'Artur (Dagudashaag 0924) is only three parsecs away from the TL–4 world of Muruk (Dagudashaag 1021).

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Remnants Subsector is defended by 190th Fleet.

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Remnants, subsector J of Dagudashaag contains 38 worlds with an estimated population of 14 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,536, and a total economy is BCr65,734. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr3,782 through 38 starports (5 Class A, 9 Class B, 18 Class C, 6 Class D) employing 655,350 people. Driving this interstellar trade are six Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, three Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, four Rich (Ri) worlds, and no Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Remnants maintain 13 Scout bases, and eight Naval bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 11). The highest technology level is 14 at D'Artur (Dagudashaag 0924).

Remnants, subsector J of Dagudashaag contains 56 stars and 376 identified planets; 21 monostellar systems, 16 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 29 of the 38 systems (76%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, no Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, nine Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Remnants has an estimated population of 14 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, one Moderate population (Ph) world, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 12 Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Ispumer (Dagudashaag 1222) and Shankida (Dagudashaag 1321). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Third Imperium, Lancian Cultural Region[edit]

The Third Imperium, Lancian Cultural Region has jurisdiction over all of the worlds with an estimated population of 14 billion, a per capita income of Cr4,536, and a total economy is BCr65,734. The highest population worlds are Ispumer (Dagudashaag 1222) and Shankida (Dagudashaag 1321). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Astrographic Features & Trade Routes: 1105[edit]

The most important astrographical formation in this area is the Pact-Remnants Mainbridge, a portion of the Dagudashaag Main between Urgu (Dagudashaag 0823) and Dashi (Dagudashaag 1723).

With the advent of higher jump trade, the primary communications route between Medurma (world) and Ushra now goes directly from Campbell (Dagudashaag 1722) to Nakharpii (Dagudashaag 1420), thus bypassing the subsector completely.

The following astrographic features, trade routes, mains, clusters, and traces can be found within this area:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

On some maps, the subsector capital is marked as D'Artur (Dagudashaag 0924). The official capital is on Liikiir, which is where most of the administrative facilities exists. The current duke Stefan de Bere-Owstrowski, is also a high ranking Naval officer and spends a great deal of time at the Naval base on D'Artur. So much so, most of the high level decision making and court functions are held there most of the time.

Artefacts dating back more than 40 million years have been found on several systems in Remnants. These suggest that a spacefaring race lived on several planets in the subsector millions of years ago. Evidence includes fossils of small organic machine-like objects found in vast collapsed chambers on Apemkir; circular underground chambers melted out of solid stone on Ussine; and an abandoned city at the South Pole of Cr'cpuc. The most important finds are several fossils of a creature believed to be the sophont found on both Larsen and on Madingik. This race is known as "Acathii", Göheimsan for 'Elders'.
