Rashiki is a world suited to becoming an agricultural world, but with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 sophonts, but lacks the capability to produce or process sufficient resources to export its projected agricultural produce. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Rashiki, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. 40% of the world's population is the Human Chimera Scanian. During the Long Night this world was named Ashkukir.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Rashiki is a member -- and namesake -- of the Rashiki Cluster.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Rashiki has no native carnivorous vertebrate life; insects have evolved to fill the niche of culling herbivore populations. Perhaps the nastiest of the insects are the Banauk or "piranha wasp".

History and background[edit]

A large Scanian colony has been established on the planet but most of the population are mainstream Imperials - who have adopted traits from the Scanian culture, mainly their government model.

World Starport[edit]

Rashiki has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Technology Level[edit]

Rashiki possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Rashiki is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.

World Law Level[edit]

Rashiki has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

This world follows Scanian legal procedures:

  • The Gate Bakamaa deals with all monetary matters
  • The Gate Bah'ezi deals with contract law, including marriage contracts.
  • The Gate Babha'ti deals with governmental law.
  • Criminal law is dealt with by the Court of judgement; trial by three judges.
  • In minor matters a person can elect to have his case heard by Hedyo't. This consists of any three Scanians who are considered totally impartial, and any judgement reached is considered legal.
