Quuira system has a population between 10 and 100 million sophonts. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Kuriishe Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Quuira, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdoms of a marquis and a viscount. All three are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Igmias.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Quuira is a member of the Sylean Main.

Native Lifeforms[edit]
Quuira's population used to number in the billions before this catastrophe happened, and many of them were able to survive due to an unknown chemical in the atmosphere that caused much of the planet’s plant life to undergo a drastic change. The most significant of these changes was to the Igmian equivalent of the humble water lily, known locally as a Gangua. They grew to such fantastic sizes that the planet’s inhabitants found that they could live on these with no discomfort whatsoever. The ganguas grew to be miles across, and the largest of them ended up numbering around half a million. They can be found all over Quuira, with many being located in the equatorial region of the planet. Because of this, from orbit it looks as if the planet has a fine green belt around it. Each gangua can be occupied by anything between a few dozen well-off inhabitants to thousands of people, in effect making the later into small floatng cites. Many ganguas have now had rows of giant steam turbines fitted that enable them to be moved to other parts of the planet whenever the need arises.
History and background[edit]
Quuira didn’t always use to be a water-world; during the First Imperium, a Vilani starship attempted to enter jump too near to this system’s only gas giant. The misjump caused a massive explosion, and mater from it was sent flying out across the system. Some of this mater and gas reached Quuira, which was fortunately in orbit on the far side of the system at the time. The collision as certain chemicals in the gases caused a greenhouse effect to occur, making Quuira’s polar ice regions melt over a period of about twenty years. Only during the last five years of this global warming did the planet’s rulers realize that Quuira was on its way to being completely flooded out.

It is predicted that the waters will subside enough for land to be seen again one day, but this isn’t thought likely to occur for at least a thousand years. Needless to say, a vast amount of early Igmian culture lie lost deep beneath the all-encompassing sea.
