A-life, or life without life, is a term used to indicate a lifeform that does not fit existing definitions for life.

• Some scientists have proposed that before current, conventional life arose, A-life might have existed. Some think it might still exist, possibly hidden in the nebulae, oorts, or among the dark matter.
