Nikhuskir has an unbreathably thin atmosphere and very little surface water. The system has a population between 10 million and 1 billion sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Kuriishe Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Nikhuskir, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a marquis. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. During the Long Night this world was named Inzir Ri.

Astrography and planetology[edit]

Nikhuskir is a member of the Sylean Main.

The planet itself is in an inclined eccentric orbit, showing that it is a captured wanderer. From the proportion of heavy minerals, radioactive ores and gems, it is thought that the planet is actually the core of a once much larger planet, shattered in some catastrophic collision and knocked out of its original stellar system. The low gravity and stripped core make mining operations particularly easy.

History and background[edit]

Nikhuskir has a rich industrialized mining economy, exporting refined products and manufactured equipment with high material content. The population is divided between six huge domed cites, the Free Cites, each housing around ten million people. These six cites are fiercely independent and great rivals, each forming its own Government, controlling all activity within 500-mile region. Over their long history the Free Cites have evolved distinct traditions and government styles, so that for instance while Asuhuur has an egalitarian society, with extensive computer moderated democracy, Emsahibith has a highly stratified society where people are born into Castes which determine their role and occupation.
