Kerris-Navant System

The primary is Kerris, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0334 Sols, a mass of 0.4574 Sols, and a diameter of 711,000 km. (I) Navant orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (II) a trace atmosphere world and (III) a large gas giant form the starward outer system. Orbital positions (IV) through (VII) are unavailable due to the presence of the companion star. (VIII) a small gas giant, (IX, X) two exotic atmosphere worlds, and (XI) a sparse icy planetoid belt form the spaceward outer system. Most of the worlds retain satellites.

Jemm Subsystem

The companion is Jemm, a red subdwarf star that orbits Kerris at 2.7 AU (orbital position (VI), 254 million km) and has an orbital period of 6 years 204 days. It has a luminosity of 0.0015 Sols, a mass of 0.0925 Sols, and a diameter of 53,200 km. (I) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (II) a small vacuum world, and (III) a small gas giant form the outer system. The gas giant retains satellites.

(I) Navant

(I) Navant is designated the mainworld and orbits primary at a mean distance of 0.2 AU (29.9 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 48 days 7 hours and a rotation period of 33 hours. The axial tilt is 26.5 degrees. Navant has a diameter of 6,607 km, a density of 4.25 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.4 G. Its atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.25 bar and a composition of 81% nitrogen, 18% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 44% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.75m. Mean surface temperature: -10°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems, driven by the star and the seas, work across the globe. The climate is seasonal and weather patterns follow regular cycles during the local year.
