Mining technology has advanced significantly in the time of the Third Imperium. Not only can conventional terrestrial environments be mined, but planetoid belts, vacuum worlds, gas giants, and a variety of other exotic environments.
- Planetoid Belt mining or Belt Mining is particularly widespread and the miners of these asteroid strikes are known as belters.
