System Data[edit]

Sonoj-Liradi System[edit]

The primary is Sonoj, a yellow-white giant star. It has a luminosity of 47 Sols, a mass of 5.6 Sols and a diameter of 7.096 million km. The inner system consists of (Ia) and (Ib) a binary pair of extremely hot small gas giants orbiting close to the surface of the star, (V) a sparse stony planetoid belt, and (VI) a dense stony [[planetoid belt] – orbital positions (II), (III) and (IV) are empty. (VII) Liradi orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VIII) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (IX) a vacuum iceworld, (X) a vacuum worldlet, (XI) a small ice giant, (XII) a ringed large gas giant, and (XIII) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. All of the major worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(VII) Liradi[edit]

(VII) Liradi is designated the mainworld. It orbits Sonoj at a mean distance of 5.35 AU (800 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 100 days 10 hours and a rotation period of 34.5 hours. The axial tilt is 6 degrees. Liradi has a diameter of 13,106 km, a density of 7.04 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.31 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Corrosive, with a mean surface pressure of 3.17 bar and a composition of 87% nitrogen (N2), 9% carbon dioxide (CO2), 2% azane (NH3), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% carbon monoxide (CO), abiotic oxygen (O2), water vapor (H2O), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Liradi has very high levels of background radiation: emission rates exceed 65 rads per hour. Approximately 31% of the surface is covered in lakes and seas of carbonic acid (H2CO3): average tidal ranges exceed 0.1m. Mean surface temperature: 93°C. The climate is rated as Very Hot and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is very active and violent weather systems driven by the star and the seas sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Liradi retains a single natural satellite, a trace atmosphere worldlet called Lyron:

(VIIa) Lyron (UWP Y310000-0, orbiting at 20 Diameters/262,000 km)

Mainworld Atmosphere[edit]

Liradi has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 540 million km², Land surface area: 373 million km², Fluid surface area: 167 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Sonoj-Liradi System[edit]

No world in the system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Liradi has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Liradi possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World government[edit]

Liradi has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
