Ksandi is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Naakhulige Subsector of Verge Sector.
- It is a main world which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Ksandi has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld. It is a moon of the inner gas giant.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x2 gas giants. One orbits in the habitable zone, one orbits in the far outer system.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Ksandi is a satellite of a gas giant.[2]
The mainworld and its gas giant primary orbit within the habitable zone.
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Ksandi is a Small World between 4,000km and 5,600km in diameter. The world has low gravity between 0.24G and 0.34G. The horizon will appear about 3km away.
- Tidal stresses generated by the gas giant and the close star cause geological activity, including regular cycles of earthquakes.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Ksandi has a pressure of less than 0.1 atmospheres which requires the use of a Vacc Suit. TL–8 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Ksandi has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Ksandi is one of two systems by this name in Verge Sector. This moon's inhabitants tend to pronounce their home's name with more of a 'z' than an 's', and soften the terminal 'i'.
The system is ancient, centered on an aged star: while Ksandi is inhospitable it is the prime world in a star system largely made up of barren, airless chunks of rock. the main attraction is the plentiful fuel to be had from the two gas giants. The outer of the two harbors bizarre native lifeforms. Though they display no sentience, the landing beacon operated by the locals advises visitors to use the inner gas giant, around which Ksandi orbits.
Ksandi was much more hospitable in the primordial past but is now an arid, rugged world swept by huge duststorms. Populated by left-overs, ex-patriots, and survivors of at least one shipwreck, Ksandi's settlements consist of an ancient domed city in a sad state of repair surrounded by a cluster of much smaller domes, one of which sits near the meticulously maintained flat area of bedrock which passes for a starport. The family groups here occupy the smaller domes as their homesteads and hold the huge Old City in common, but squabble over its use. Large sections of the Old City's dome are compromised and it cannot be fully occupied, but those sections capable of supporting life house many of the production facilities the populace use to maintain their world.[3]
Ksandi was never incorporated into the Ziru Sirka. Its status under the Rule of Man remains unclear.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Ksandi has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Ksandi has population of 400 sophonts (hundreds).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Ksandi possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Ksandi has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Ksandi has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Portable energy weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
Trade Data[edit]
- Importance: -1 (unimportant)
World Economy[edit]
- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 1 (tens)
- Infrastructure: 0 (non-existent)
- Efficiency: -5 (extremely unimportant)
World Culture[edit]
- Heterogenity: 1 (monolithic)
- Acceptance: 1 (extremely xenophobic)
- Strangeness: 1 (very typical)
- Symbols: 6 (somewhat concrete)
World Timeline[edit]

- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
