Korsumug Main
The Korsumug Main is an astrographic feature lying across several sectors.
- It is also known as the Thetan Main.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Korsumug Main lies within Mavuzog, Theta Borealis, and Astron Sectors.

- The furthest coreward world on the Main is Veskric, lying just within Astron Sector.

Borealis Group[edit]
The Korsumug Main threads its way through the heart of the Borealis Group, a very large cluster of stars centered on the supergiant Theta Borealis.
- It is an astrographic feature visible across the whole of Charted Space.
- It contains an unusually high number of giant stars.
- The cluster covers much of Theta Borealis Sector and elements of its structure spread into surrounding sectors.
- It lies close to the coreward edge of the Great Rift.
The skies within the region are spectacular. Some of the brighter stars can be seen from the surfaces of worlds during daylight hours.
A basic map indicating the physical structure of the Borealis Group within Theta Borealis Sector.
- The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
- The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.
(Chart sourced from Traveller Map).
Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.
- Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
- Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the sector and far beyond.
The brightest stars in the group are called the Borealean Stars. They include:
- Theta Borealis: A7 Ia Supergiant, Luminosity: 73,000 sols.
- Sigma Borealis: M9 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 16,200 sols.
- Tau Borealis: M9 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 16,200 sols.
- Epsilon Borealis: M7 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 15,550 sols.
- Zeta Borealis: M5 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 14,900 sols.
- Mu Borealis: M5 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 14,900 sols.
- Kappa Borealis: A3 Ib Supergiant, Luminosity: 13,000 sols.
- Rho Borealis: M4 II Bright Giant, Luminosity: 12,840 sols.
They are surrounded by more than sixty other giant and subgiant stars, many almost as bright as the named giants, as well as numerous main sequence stars and white dwarfs.
- Many of these spectacular giant stars are Korsumug Main destinations.
Korsumug Gate[edit]
The Korsumug Gate is the name given to the coreward part of the Korsumug main, within Theta Borealis Sector.
- The area is a natural choke point.
- The Main forms the only route between the empty expanses of the Thetan Rift and the Thetan Void.

The Gate region and the rift regions that surround it form a natural defensive perimeter for the Trooles Confederation.
The Trooles Expeditionary Force defends the Gate region and launches preemptive strikes to rimward.
- Intelligence about Korsumug activity is provided by the Trooles Recon Command.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The Korsumug Main is an important trade artery. Its worlds have been marauded by Jaibok for millennia.
- The Imperial Korsumug Navy conducts organized raids.
- The Trooles Confederation Navy patrols the coreward end of the main.

This astrographic feature is primarily found in the following areas:
World Listings[edit]
Comprehensive Second Survey UWP data for all member worlds of the main is available.
- The primary source material for all data is Traveller Map.
- Other sources may contain contradictory or incorrect information.

Note that some Second Survey data, though only 40 years old, is likely to be out of date.
- Data is occasionally updated as new information becomes available.
- Scouting missions gathering reliable, verified data can receive substantial payment.
- Verified updated data is constantly sought.
