Khouth is an industrial, high-population fluidic world with a billion or more sophonts in size.
- A fluid world has an oceanic geography of a liquid other than water such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids.
- As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
- The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Khouth Subsector of Corridor Sector in the Domain of Vland.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Khouth has a solitary primary star.
- It is a red main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x10 secondary rocky worlds.
- x2 planetoid belts.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Khouth is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Khouth has an Insidious Atmosphere which requires the use of a Hostile Environment Suit or Vacc Suit, but extreme conditions cause the corrosive effects to defeat any personal protective measures in a few hours. TL–10 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Khouth has 25-35% of its surface covered by a fluid other than water. Wilderness refueling is not possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds may be Hell Worlds.
- This surface fluid may be ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquids depending on the local temperature and environment.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Khouth has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
No information yet available.
World Demographics[edit]
Humaniti, population 100%
World Government (G)[edit]
Khouth is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
No information yet available.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Khouth possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.

Imperial Landed Nobility (N)[edit]
Khouth, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
- It holds the estate of an Imperial knight.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial count.
- It holds the fiefdom of an Imperial subsector duke.

World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- ca -250,000: The Ancients were active within the region, transplanting the Vargr onto Lair.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump technology. A few explorers and settlers begin to pioneer the region.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka claims a few rimward worlds and establishes a firm border. The Windhorn Rift and the absence of any significant Mains discourages large-scale Vilani expansion into the region.
- -3810: the Vargr discover jump technology and begin an era of expansion.
- -2400s: Vargr raiding into human-dominated areas significantly increases. This becomes known as the Vargr Pillaging.
- ca -1700: Vargr rimward expansion gradually ceases: the border between human and Vargr space stabilizes.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the area and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: to rimward-trailing, the Third Imperium is founded.
- circa 26: the Empire of Varroerth is founded.
- early 100s: the Contract of Taarskoerzn is founded.
- 300-420: the Imperial First Survey charts the system.
- early 400s: the Irrgh Manifest is founded: it absorbs the Contract of Taarskoerzn.
- mid 500s: the Knokseng Confederation is founded.
- 869: the Glory of Taarskoerzn is founded. It splits the Irrgh Manifest.
- 995-1065: the Imperial Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published. Information about the system becomes widely available.
- 1080s: the Knokseng Confederation is dissolved.
- 1090: the Dzarrgh Federate is formed.
Pre-Imperial[edit]
The local population lived in orbital complexes from the earliest times. Khouth was part of a complex trading group of Khouth, Gase A, Dirge Iim and Mikesh that was hard pressed to hold its own against Vargr raids. What is now the Million Trace and Dzarrgh Run were the sites of many of these conflicts as the group tried to keep the Vargr at a distance. Khouth saw contact with the Imperium as the arrival of additional trading opportunities and allies in the fight against the Barbarians. It joined the Imperium voluntarily in 5.
Imperial[edit]
Khouth was the subsector capitol of Khouth Subsector The Vilani Pacification Campaign passed Khouth by. Neither the wars themselves, nor the refugees from those wars, came to Khouth despite its Vilani culture. The Vargr Campaigns, however, saw Khouth providing supplies and ships to the Imperial Navy, and several Imperial Army Brigades volunteered from this world. The world was also heavily involved in the campaigns on Serk (Deneb 0304) (as Gase A subsequently became), in 379. The last act of the Imperium in the government of Khouth was the withdrawal of the Corridor Fleet in 1117. The imperial period ended in 1118 with the arrival of the Dzarrgh Federate.
Dzarrgh Federate[edit]
When the Dzarrgh Federate took over, some of the orbital complexes in which the population of Khouth resided were badly damaged. The Dzarrgh Governor did not believe the Regency warnings, and so world lacked the kind of contingency plan that Mikesh (Corridor 0206) implemented. Despite this, about 15% of the population of Khouth (600 Million) actually managed to evacuate the planet (mostly aiming for the Regency of Deneb) in the decade before the arrival of Virus.
Fall of Khouth[edit]
The remaining population all perished in their hundreds of millions, as the Doomslayer that arrived at Khouth deliberately destroyed the orbital facilities. Most of the system's technology plummeted into the hellish atmosphere of the world below, and salvagers have only found occasional debris and some old TL–13 Navigation Beacons.
