Indur is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and very rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world. However, a rich world like this one can afford the cost of importation.
  • This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
  • Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Loran Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

The Indur system is a part of the Nist Cluster.

System Data[edit]

Ganish-Indur System[edit]

The primary is Ganish, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.57 Sols, a mass of 0.894 Sols, and a diameter of 1.265 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, and (II) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world. (III) Indur orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a dense stony planetoid belt, (VI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, (VII) a vacuum iceworld, and (VIII) a thin atmosphere radworld form the outer system – orbital position (V) is empty. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Indur[edit]

(III) Indur is designated the mainworld. It orbits Ganish at a mean distance of 0.65 AU (97.24 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 204 days 7 hours and a rotation period of 19.5 hours. The axial tilt is 17 degrees. Indur has a diameter of 9,611 km, a density of 5.69 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.78 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.78 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapour, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 73% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.4m. Mean surface temperature: 17°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans cross the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellite[edit]

Indur retains a single natural satellite, a thin atmosphere hospitable world named Mumba:

(IIIa) Mumba (UWP G354336-6, orbiting Indur at 25 Diameters/240,000 km)

Mainworld geography and topography[edit]

Total surface area: 290 million km², Water surface area: 212 million km², Land surface area: 78 million km².

Native lifeforms[edit]

Both Indur and Mumba have extensive native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

World starport[edit]

Indur has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Indur possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World government[edit]

Indur is governed by a Feudal Technocracy. Society divides itself based on the technical requirements of the society. Each of these functions are granted as a fief to an individual or group. Leadership of these fiefs determines the head of the government.
