Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Most people on Hofud live on the larger of the two continents, Ofrein. The smaller continent, Baaten, is far less populated, with only 60 million people to Ofrein's 520 million.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
In the aftermath of the Sacnoth Dominate, Hofud became a local power through the time of the Hofud Alliance.
In 383, Hofud launched a campaign of conquest against Sting, forcing its government to flee into exile on Biter. Attempts to crush continued resistance led to a 20-year guerrilla war on Biter, which became too costly for Hofud to bear. Unable to accept defeat, the Hofud occupying force began rounding up the population of Biter and relocating them to other worlds.
Prior to the Fifth Frontier War Hofud was a member of the Sword Worlds Confederation, but following the war Hofud became part of the Imperial Client state known as the Border Worlds. Hofud has generally hosted a military base.
Trivia[edit]
Hǫfuð ("man-head") is the sword of Heimdallr from Norse mythology, who was the guardian of the burning rainbow bridge Bifröst.
