Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Heng-O class Destroyer is a light warship.
- It is a military ship and a Destroyer.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
This vessel's hull is a streamlined needle/wedge equipped with scoops and a purification plant for ocean refueling. The ship has 6G acceleration with 6-Agility. The strategic jump range is limited by the TL–10 drives available. The ship can carry enough fuel for two jumps without refueling. There is a redundant Model/4 fib ship computer adjacent to the bridge. This vessel is designed to carry out a variety of roles. It is expected to be escorted with support vessels.
- It is too small for a spinal mounted weapon and is not expected to stand with the ships of the line. For offense there are two batteries of ten triple beam laser turrets, a particle accelerator bay, four 100 ton missile bays, and ten dual plasma gun turrets in a single battery. The plasma guns can track and target twenty fighters or missiles, for point defense. For defense there is armor over critical systems, a battery of ten triple sand caster turrets, and a low powered repulsor bay.
- For patrol and combat space patrol duties this design carries a single squadron of ten 20-ton fighters of local design. The small marine platoon has drop capsules and a pair of ship's boats for recovery. It can deploy and recover a small platoon of twenty four marines.
- It has a 159 sophont crew and 24 marines. It carries a low watch to replace casualties or to carry more troops. It has no cargo hold for extended provisions.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Also referred to as the "Type 20," 3 are built per year. As large as several classes of light cruiser, this is a big destroyer and more expensive. Manufactured at TL–10 for the Mercantile Concord. Yards on Fu Hsi (world), Chou (world), and Ju-i (world) also manufacture this ship at a low rate.
