Native Life[edit]
Instead of rigid bones, animals on this world have cartilaginous telescopic rods that allow them to change from being tall and lithe one minute to squat and strong the next. Mouth, eyes, limbs and digits are all similarly telescopic appendages.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Contact with the natives was made by the Vilani during their consolidation efforts. At the time, the Gumahl were at TL–7 and on the point of annihilating themselves with their own biological weapons. The Vilani were themselves in conflict with the Loeskalth at the time, and saw in the Gumahl a useful source of mercenaries.
During the latter part of the Long Night, Gumahl caused trouble for Human and Sidurii colonies in nearby systems; with the rise of the Third Imperium, they were forced back to their homeworld and disarmed. Gumahler is now permanently interdicted.
