Gudina is a garden world with an environment conductive to most sophonts. The system has a population over one billion. This world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Nulinad Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Gudina, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight and a baronet, and the fiefdom of a count. History and Background[edit]

Gudina is a major storage centre of old Imperial paperwork and data. As an Imperial Resource world, it is administered directly by the Imperium, to meet Imperial needs. The World Library of Gudina provides resources to many prestigious academies and research institutions, with data stretching back to the First Imperium.

Gudina was one of the Glorious Twelve, the term given to the twelve human systems that stood against the Vargr Pillaging. Gudina was initially hostile to the Third Imperium, but in 32 Imperial was persuaded to join in return for giving the world her old position as a document depository.

Given the predilection of Imperial bureaucracy for generating countless forms and files, there comes a time when the accumulated by-products of bureaucracy begin to take up far too much space, and must be shipped somewhere. Gudina is an example of a world dedicated to the warehousing and maintenance of these "artifacts." An Imperial resource world, Gudina receives regular shipments of bureaucratic data from the Imperial holdings within the Empty Quarter and adjacent subsectors, and houses them indefinitely. A practice started during the end of the First Imperium, the vaults at Gudina contain regional documentation over three millennia old. Dedicated Imperial civil servants receive, collate and warehouse every piece of information that arrives at Gudina. Many Bwaps consider Gudina an excellent place to retire, for this very reason.

The World Library of Gudina allows Imperial citizens access to the public information that has been gathered and released by the Imperial Bureaucracy. Many prestigious academies through the Gamma Quadrant of Empty Quarter sector support campuses on Gudina, to take advantage of the incredibly diverse resources available.

While a broadly Vilani-culture world, there is a substantial Bwap minority as well: many of these creches are culturally influential in the planetary government - it is one of the few worlds ruled directly by an Imperial Viscount, instead of a separate and independent local government - and in the interstellar Bwap culture, to the extent that Gudina is sometimes treated as an honorary Bwap world. Due to its unusually close links to the Iridium Throne, the planetary culture is rather closer to the “clan and corporate” Imperial mainstream than to the “race and faith” matrix common in the Imperial Empty Quarter.

Viscount of Gudina: the Viscount rank is tied to this system’s role as an Imperial Deposit of bureaucratic files. Similar ranks were held by the leading planetary nobles during the First and Second Imperia, making this one of the oldest titles in the Imperium.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Gudina, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of three members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport[edit]

Gudina has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
