The Goertel Subsector, like many others of the Trojan Reach, is named after the first world colonized there, an outpost of the ancient Sindalian Empire.

  • It is one of only two human worlds in the subsector: the rest are either Aslan or of the Glorious Empire.
  • During the Rebellion, all of the worlds of the Goertel subsector fall to the invading Aslan ihatei.

These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr907 through 26 starports (3 Class A, 18 Class B, 3 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 214,600 people. Driving this interstellar trade are three Agricultural (Ag) worlds, six Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, four Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, three Rich (Ri) worlds, and two Industrial (In) worlds. Goertel, subsector J of Trojan Reach contains 41 stars and 323 identified planets; 16 monostellar systems, 11 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 25 of the 28 systems (89%) have native gas giants. There are one Asteroid (As) belt, five Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, two Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, seven Poor (Po) worlds, five Vacuum (Va) worlds, and three Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) worlds.

Goertel has an estimated population of 24 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, four Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 11 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, seven Low population (Lo) worlds, and one Barren (Ba) world. The highest population world is Hliyh (Trojan Reach 1323). The population consists of 2 sophont groups.
