Fieral is an agricultural world with the potential to become an industrial power.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import many manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by indigenous Sophonts located in the Paradise Subsector of Halcyon Sector.

System Data[edit]

Fimorda-Fieral System[edit]

Fimorda, the system primary, is an ordinary white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 2.584 Sols, a mass of 1.196 Sols, and a diameter of 1.742 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a trace atmosphere worldlet, (II) a vacuum worldlet, (III) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IV) a sparse stony planetoid belt. (V) Fieral orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (VI) a ringed large gas giant and (VII) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Galadek Subsystem[edit]

The companion is Galadak, a tiny red dwarf star that orbits Fimorda at approximately 150 AU (orbital position (XII), 22.4 billion km). It has a luminosity of 0.00054 Sols, a mass of 0.07 Sols, and a diameter of 91,500 km. (I) a thin atmosphere radworld, (II) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (III) a standard atmosphere bigworld, (IV) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (V) a small ice giant, and (VI) an exotic atmosphere bigworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(V) Fieral[edit]

(V) Fieral is designated the mainworld. It orbits Fimorda at a mean distance of 1.63 AU (243.8 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 1 year 330 days and a rotation period of 22.5 hours. The axial tilt is 21 degrees. Fieral has a diameter of 13,128 km, a density of 5.70 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 1.06 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 1.68 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen, 22% oxygen, and 1% argon, water vapor, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. The atmospheric taint is caused by spores and pollens of organic origin. Approximately 44% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 28°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and strong weather systems driven by the star and the seas roll across the globe. The climate is seasonal.

Satellites[edit]

Fieral retains two natural satellites, a small thin atmosphere worldlet named Guvak and an ice-capped vacuum moon named Bolodor:

(Va) Guvak (UWP Y322000-0, orbiting Fieral at 14 Diameters/184,000 km)
(Vb) Bolodor (UWP Y201000-0, orbiting Fieral at 55 Diameters/722,000 km)

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

This world is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

This world has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

This world has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 541 million km², Land surface area: 303 million km², Water surface area: 238 million km². The equatorial regions of the world are covered in lakes and seas of liquid water. The polar regions are rugged and arid. The Southern hemisphere, which has more large bodies of open water, is generally more hospitable.

Mainworld Map[edit]

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Fieral has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal. The temperate zones are dominated by wetlands and forests, gradually giving way to broad temperate grasslands and arid polar deserts. Almost all of the native flora produces spores that saturate the atmosphere - spore concentrations are highest around the equator. Many large animals have elongated or serpentine body forms.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Generalized summary of the UWP:

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Fieral has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Fieral has a population of 10,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Demographics[edit]

Population: 72,300,000

  • Meroquan: (indigenous NIL): 70.4 million (97.37% of the population), widely dispersed across the world.
  • Humaniti (Human races)
  • Non-Human Races:
    • Hoppers: 650,000 (0.89% of the population), concentrated within hives close to human communities.
    • Esaran: 150,000 (0.21% of the population), widely dispersed across the world.
    • Temelik: approximately 10,000 (less than 0.01% of the population), widely dispersed across the world.

World Government (G)[edit]

Fieral is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Fieral has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Fieral possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Military[edit]

Military formations are formed ad hoc as needed from citizens motivated to serve.

World Economy (Ex)[edit]

  • Resources: A (Abundant)
  • Labor: 6 (Millions)
  • Infrastructure: A (Extensive)
  • Efficiency: +3 (Improved)

Urbanization[edit]

Large scale urban areas are uncommon on Fieral. Meroquan prefer to live in relatively isolated family estates, which are themselves clustered into broad areas that share a common language, culture and heritage.

World Infrastructure[edit]
