Farns is a nonindustrial, pre-rich world still lacking adequate population to expand its economy to a rich status.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Miruu Subsector of Verge Sector in the Domain of Ilelish.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Farns has a solitary primary star.
- It is an orange main sequence.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x8 secondary rocky worlds.
- x1 planetoid belt.
- x1 gas giant.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Farns is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Farns has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. A Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Farns has 15-25% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. There may be a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
World Starport (St)[edit]
Farns has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Farns has a population of 400,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Farns possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
World Government (G)[edit]
Farns has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Farns has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Farns, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

- Resources: 7 (few)
- Labor: 4 (tens of thousands)

- Efficiency: -3 (poor)
