Drayrk is a poor, nonindustrial desert world with no free-standing water.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Rure Subsector of Gushemege Sector in the Domain of Vland.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or over technology standards for Charted Space.
- Around 50% of the population is made up of Jonkereen.
- Around 50% of the population is made up of Suerrat.
- During the Long Night this world was named Gamed Kii.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Drayrk is a binary star system.
- Both are red main sequence stars.
- They are close companions.

System Data[edit]
The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:
- The mainworld.
- x5 secondary rocky worlds.
- x3 gas giants.
Mainworld Data[edit]
Drayrk has a circumbinary orbit, circling around both stars and receiving their combined energy output.
It orbits towards the inner edge of their combined habitable zone.
It has a slow rotation period: one local day is equivalent to 6.3 standard days (152 standard hours).
Mainworld Size (S)[edit]
Drayrk is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Drayrk has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.
- Temperatures are extremely high during the 76 hours of daylight.
- Temperatures fall to warm but tolerable levels during the 76-hour night.
Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Drayrk has no free-standing water or ice on the surface. Wilderness refueling isn't possible on this world. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are classified Desert World or a Hell World depending on their atmosphere.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.
(Blank map, predominantly dry world.)
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The world has primitive native life occupying a few ecological niches.
- Native lifeforms are thermophilic - they thrive in very high temperatures.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Drayrk's Jonkeereen population were settled there by the Imperial Megacorporation SuSAG in the 400s to counter early Suerrat expansion.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Drayrk has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Drayrk has a population of 400,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- Around 200,000 Jonkereen (forming around 50% of the population) inhabit the world.
- Around 200,000 Suerrat (making up around 50% of the population) reside on the world.
Languages[edit]
The following languages are most typically heard:
- Anglic: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Na'ans: the most widely spoken Suerrat language.
- Vilani: one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Yaudal, a commonly spoken Suerrat language.
Urbanization[edit]
Suerrat cities are very crowded. Suerrat populations are at a density where other species find the mental health of the inhabitants deteriorates; by contrast, Suerrat thrive in these conditions.
- Suerrat like natural surroundings and will incorporate vegetation and even small animals into their urban areas, wherever possible.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Drayrk possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.
World Government (G)[edit]
Drayrk has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
World Law (L)[edit]
Drayrk has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Drayrk, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.

World Timeline[edit]
Major events that have affected this world and the wider region that it lies within:
- ca -250,000: the Suerrat are transplanted to Ilelish by the Ancients.
- -9235: the Vilani discover jump drive technology. Over many centuries, pioneers and settlers gradually spread out from Vland, their homeworld.
- prior to -8100: a Suerrat pre-Jump multi-world civilization flourishes, centered on Ilelish.
- circa -8100: The Vilani make contact with the Suerrat and sell them jump technology.
- prior to -5400: the Suerrat have established a multi-world polity using jump drives. It would become one of the first targets of the Vilani Consolidation Wars.
- -4045 to -2204: the Ziru Sirka controls the world.
- -2404 to -2215: the Interstellar Wars.
- -2204 to -1776: the Rule of Man administers the worlds of the region.
- -1776 to 0: the Long Night. There is widespread regression within the sector and some worlds become barren.
- The Year 0: the Third Imperium is founded.
- 76: Ilelish Pacification Campaign.
- 300-420: the First Survey charts the system.
- 418-435: the Ilelish Revolt.
- 604-622: the Civil War.
- 624: the Express Boat Network is established.
- 995-1065: the Second Survey charts the system.
- 1065: the Second Survey is published.
Later Historical Eras[edit]
The economy of Drayrk collapsed in 1125 and the local tech level fell to TL–9, continuing to decline to around TL–8 in 1137. The period is one of suffering and hardship - the economic and technological collapse caused a famine and mass starvation. However, its lack of reliance on advanced equipment spared it the worst excesses of Virus infection.
- The former balkanized world is now ruled by a moderate technocracy of land barons owning the few water reservoirs of the world. The surviving population are mostly Jonkeereen.
- The world received a tradeport in 1175 but decided not to upgrade their economy to dynamical linked systems.
