Colchis is a pre-agricultural, pre-Industrial, moderate population world with over a hundred million, but not yet at a billion sophonts in population size.
- It requires significant imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to slowly improve barring outside forces.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Old Islands Subsector of Reft Sector.
- This world-system hosts a Military Base, usually associated with military ground forces, which may be located on or off-world.
Astrography and planetology[edit]
Colchis Starport is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the Islands Cluster, and most powers maintain trade missions there. Not coincidentally, it is also a hotbed of politics and espionage.

Colchis Prime:
- Aetes
- Medea
- Samelegro: A few thousand miners and their families live here. Samelegro Station is the administrative capital.
- Colchis: The mainworld
- Imereti: A ‘rockball’ world with only a trace atmosphere. It nevertheless supports a population of several million people, dwelling in large city-colonies. The United Colonies of Imereti is a polity run by a complex pseudodemocratic system whereby the population vote on all manner of issues but wield no actual power. Instead the results of each poll are used as an indicator of public opinion by a bureaucratic government.
- Sochi: A gas giant. It has two moons of note. Sochi One is a gas-skimming base, from which automated shuttles skim petrochemical-rich gases from the upper atmosphere of Sochi. Sochi Two is theoretically independent, settled from the United Colonies of Imereti.
- Guria
- Atchara: The outermost planet, a rockball with no atmosphere. Despite this, Atchara is home to a population of several thousand people. These were optimistic settlers who thought that an outsystem rockball offered a good compromise between the life they knew aboard the colony ships and a planetary settlement.
Colchis Secondary:
- Svaneti: The population of Svaneti numbers about a million, mainly dwelling around the more habitable equatorial regions. Settlements are fairly large, and well supported by a mature TL-9 industrial base.
History and background[edit]
New Home (Reft 1925) was the first to construct an interstellar spaceship Outward Bound, a scaled down version of the ESA colony ships. In 269 it launched an expedition to colonize Colchis. [2]
The Outward Bound arrived in 295 to start the colony. [3]
