Lars-Chim System

The primary is Lars, a dim red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0055 Sols, a mass of 0.302 Sols, and a diameter of 444,000 km. (I) Musat, a small gas giant: (Ib) Chim is its outer satellite and is designated the mainworld. (II) a ringed large gas giant, (III) an exotic atmosphere bigworld, and (V) a small ice giant form the outer system – orbital position (IV) is empty. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

(I) Musat

(I) Musat is a small gas giant that orbits Lars at a mean distance of 0.23 AU (34.4 million km), within the outer system, and has an orbital period of 73 days 8 hours. It has a diameter of 29,000 km and an atmosphere consisting of 92% hydrogen (H₂), 8% helium (He), and less than 1% methane (CH₄), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH₃), water vapor (H₂O) and other trace gases. It is a bland blue color with occasional streaks of white cloud. It retains a family of two major satellites.

(Ib) Chim (designated the mainworld, orbiting at 9 Diameters/260,000 km)

(Ib) Chim

(Ib) Chim is the outer of the two major moons of (I) Musat and is designated the mainworld. It orbits its parent world at a mean distance of 9 diameters (260,000 million km), with an orbital period of 21 days 19 hours: it is tidally locked to Musat. The axial tilt is 0 degrees relative to Musat. Chim has a diameter of 5,018 km, a density of 4.33 g/cm³ and a surface gravity of 0.31 G. Tidal stresses generated by the gravitational pull of Musat cause constant geological activity. The atmosphere is rated as Very Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.22 bar and a composition of 81% nitrogen (N₂), 18% abiotic oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Around 16% of the surface is covered in sheets of water-ice and lakes of water kept liquid by geothermal activity. Mean surface temperature: -23°C. The climate is rated as Cold and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and minor weather systems driven by the star drift across the globe.
