Chaiik is a poor, nonindustrial world.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world has few prospects for economic development.
- It is a member of the Sath Alliance in the Sarudis Subsector of Far Home Sector.
- Warning: Humans are not welcome within the Sath Alliance. Those few humans that venture into its territory are generally met with a hostile reception and are closely monitored at all times.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]
Ka'chaa-Chaiik System[edit]
The primary is Ka'chaa, an ordinary yellow-white main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.668 Sols, a mass of 1.092 Sols, and a diameter of 1.536 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a vacuum inner world and (III) a dense atmosphere stormworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (IV) Chaiik orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (VI) a large gas giant, (VII) a thin atmosphere radworld, (VIII) a vacuum iceworld, and (IX) a trace atmosphere iceworld form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(IV) Chaiik[edit]
(IV) Chaiik is designated the mainworld. It orbits Ka'chaa at a mean distance of 0.97 AU (145.1 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 333 days 22 hours and a rotation period of 26 hours. The axial tilt is 6 degrees. Chaiik has a diameter of 8,172 km, a density of 4.94 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.57 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.64 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), ozone (O3), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 21% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: 35°C. The climate is rated as Hot and is static, with no seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the seas work across the globe.
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 210 million km², Land surface area: 166 million km², Water surface area: 44 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
Ka'chaa-Chaiik System[edit]
The hot stormworld lying in orbital position (II) (within the H– region of the inner system) has primitive thermophile native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that thrive in the harsh conditions. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Chaiik, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This system is directly controlled by the Issh’t’ka, the Shadow Emperor of the Sath Alliance.
It is the location of the Fastness of Green Spires, the Issh’t’ka's mountaintop palace complex.
World starport[edit]
Chaiik has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World technology level[edit]
Chaiik possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
- Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
- Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
- Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
World government[edit]
Chaiik has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
Different minor Factions, all nominally loyal to the Issh’t’ka of the Sath, control nation-territories.
