A Superclass is a kind of mid level, advanced mission type of vessels.

Ship Mission Codes are used somewhat inconsistently throughout Charted Space to identify ships.

This code is a grouping of a certain type of vessel, more specific than the mission but more general than a specific ship class, such as Type A class Free Trader (which contains multiple classes such as the Alexandria class Free Trader and Beowulf class Free Trader).
This hierarchical designation is also known as Ship Type, Ship Type Code, Type, Ship Hull Designation (along with Supraclass), or Superclass.
