Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

This world is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

This world has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. A Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear and will likely be easy for most sophonts to breathe.

While a planet with Bella Vista's oxygen-nitrogen mix would be ideal for Humaniti colonization the air is toxic due to high concentration of poisonous pollens. A filter mask is enough to stay safe.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

This world has 65-75% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

While it is an undeniably beautiful world, Bella Vista has proven a nightmare to colonize, for the diverse flora and fauna of the planet are almost uniformly highly toxic to Humaniti. Almost every form of life is poisonous to one degree or another and even many grasses and flowers induce lethal allergenic shock in anyone who breathes their pollen.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Bella Vista is a high-tech, low-population world located in Galloway Subsector of Alpha Crucis Sector.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

This world has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

This world has population of 100 sophonts (hundreds).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.

World Government[edit]

This world has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

This world has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

This world possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:

World Economy[edit]

Bella Vista is a tourist destination due to its beautiful, but dangerous, environment. It is a popular choice for people looking for adventurous safaris. Collectors of rare and toxic fauna and flora consider the world a pilgrimage location.

The Solomani Chemicals corporation has a large bioresearch facility on the planet which conducts research on pharmaceutical products using the poisons produced by the native lifeforms. For those products that have proven effective and profitable, the facility is also involved with manufacturing.

Bella Vista also is a vital waypoint on a J-2 route connecting the Neworld Sector and Spica Sector. To facilitate the trade that passes through the system, a sizable and advanced orbital starport was constructed.
