Bal Desan is an agricultural garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- Its economy and population are rapidly growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces.
- It is an unclaimed Non-Aligned world located in the Sithula Subsector of Divide Sector.
Astrography and Planetology[edit]
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
- It forms a part of the Glitterdrift Reach.
- It is a member of the Dena Trace.

System Data[edit]
Bal Desan System[edit]
The primary is Manisha, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.67 Sols, a mass of 0.94 Sols, and a diameter of 1.266 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (II) a dense atmosphere hospitable water world. (III) Bal Desan orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a ringed large gas giant, and (VII) a small gas giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Mainworld Data[edit]
(III) Bal Desan[edit]
(III) Bal Desan is designated the mainworld. It orbits Manisha at a mean distance of 0.66 AU (98.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 202 days 0 hours and a rotation period of 24 hours. The axial tilt is 18 degrees. Bal Desan has a diameter of 11,632 km, a density of 5.75 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.95 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Standard, with a mean surface pressure of 0.97 bar and a composition of 77% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), 1% argon (Ar), and 1% water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 73% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.2m. Mean surface temperature: 23°C. The atmosphere is active and strong weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite[edit]
Bal Desan retains a single natural satellite, a cratered vacuum worldlet named Indico:
- (IIIa) Indico (known UWP ?300???-?, orbiting at 20 Diameters/230,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]
Total surface area: 425 million km², Water surface area: 310 million km², Land surface area: 115 million km².
Native Lifeforms[edit]
The temperate hospitable water world lying in orbital position (II) has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Bal Desan, the mainworld, has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
