Subsector I of Gateway Sector.

Description[edit]

The spinward-coreward side of Arconna Subsector is sparse, though Castamaria (Gateway 0327) provides a jump-2 link to the Khuur League. Williwaw (Gateway 0629) supports jump-2 traffic headed towards Far Portal and Phoniwt. This represents a significant volume of trade, enriching the second capital of the Galian Federation at Tharver (Gateway 0528).

The trailing side of the subsector is within the territory of the Galian Federation.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Arconna, subsector I of Gateway contains 15 worlds with an estimated population of 5 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,565, and a total economy is BCr20,697. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr623 through 14 starports (1 Class A, 3 Class B, 6 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 96,255 people. Driving this interstellar trade are one Agricultural (Ag) world, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, two Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Arconna maintain two Naval bases. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 7 and 10). The highest technology level is 11 at Tamerij (Gateway 0430) and Carper (Gateway 0724).

Arconna, subsector I of Gateway contains 21 stars and 162 identified planets; nine monostellar systems, six binary systems, no trinary systems, and no systems with four or more stars. 12 of the 15 systems (80%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, two Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, one Ice-capped (Ic) world, two Poor (Po) worlds, two Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Arconna has an estimated population of 5 billion distributed across two High population (Hi) worlds, two Moderate population (Ph) worlds, ten Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, one Low population (Lo) world, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population worlds are Tamerij (Gateway 0430) and Tharver (Gateway 0528). The population consists of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Galian Federation[edit]

The Galian Federation has jurisdiction over nine worlds with an estimated population of 5 billion, a per capita income of Cr3,566, and a total economy is BCr20,687. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr349 through 8 starports (0 Class A, 3 Class B, 3 Class C, 2 Class D) employing 53,745 people. Driving this interstellar trade are no Agricultural (Ag) worlds, no Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, one Pre-Industrial (Pi) world, one Rich (Ri) world, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Galian Federation maintain one Naval base. The average technology level is 8 (with most between 6 and 10). The highest population worlds are Tamerij (Gateway 0430) and Tharver (Gateway 0528). The population consists of 2 sophont groups including one native sophont.

Non-Aligned, Human-dominated[edit]

There are six Non-Aligned Human-dominated worlds in Arconna with an estimated population of 4 million.

Military Situation[edit]

The primary weakness of the Galian Federation armed forces is their lack of strategic mobility. The Federation is only capable of building jump-1 vessels but most of its systems are at jump-2 distance from their neighbours. Force projection outside of Galian space is painfully slow, and there is great caution in committing any major force lest it wind up in the wrong place at too great a distance to respond to changing circumstances.
