The Antares Sector (Imperial Coordinates 1/1) is located Coreward of Fornast Sector and Trailing of Lishun Sector.
- The sector is named after the star Antares, a class M supergiant that is one of the most luminous stars in the galaxy and is the largest in Charted Space.
- Another notable astrographic feature is the Antares Main, a grouping of systems within the sector forming a chain of worlds all reachable by jump-1.

- As early as -8150 the Bureaux Naasirka won the right to develop a region in the Antares Sector, as well as bases and colonies connecting to the region.
The traditional symbol for Antares -- a series of triangles -- has been in use for more than 5000 years, but interpretations changed with time. Classically, the symbol represented a mountain range on Gaakish, the Vilani capital world for the region. As the Vargr population increased, Vargr came to see the triangles as Vargr claws.
