Anarsi Subsector is Subsector C of Vland Sector.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Anarsi Subsector is a long settled region, divided between the Imperial Domain of Vland, neutral human worlds, and areas dominated by the Vargr. Originally settled by the Ziru Sirka and then controlled by the Rule of Man, it was partially conquered by the Vargr prior to the Long Night and has remained as a frontier since that time.

  • It has been developed and exploited for millennia.

Astrographic Features[edit]

The following astrographic features and trade routes can be found within this subsector:

  • It is a higher stellar density region.
  • The brightest star is the unstable red giant primary of the Nashazi system.
  • There is one Xboat Hub, at Sardiika.
  • Many of the worlds within the subsector lie on the Vilani Main.

Stellar Distribution[edit]

A basic map showing the distribution and size of stars within Anarsi Subsector.

  • The color corresponds to the visible color of the star, which links to its spectral classification.
  • The size as shown indicates both the physical size of the object and its relative brightness.

Note that the stars as depicted are representative. Any star, no matter what its size, is a mere speck within the hex it occupies.

  • Ordinary main sequence stars can barely be seen from even a hex away.
  • Huge, intensely luminous giant stars can be seen from across the subsector and far beyond.

Trade Routes (Economic Astrography)[edit]

One major trade route dominates the region:

The Vilani Main[edit]

The Vilani Main, the mighty trade artery of the Ziru Sirka, runs through the rimward half of the subsector.

  • High cargo capacity, low jump rating vessels moving along the Main, carrying vast amounts of goods and commodities between its member worlds.

  • Worlds on the Main are highlighted in green.
  • Vland is marked in red.

Subsector Summary[edit]

Anarsi, subsector C of Vland contains 43 worlds with an estimated population of 29 billion, a per capita income of Cr6,770, and a total economy is BCr199,766. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr522 through 40 starports (4 Class A, 13 Class B, 19 Class C, 4 Class D) employing 87,360 people. Driving this interstellar trade are eight Agricultural (Ag) worlds, three Non-Agricultural (Na) worlds, two Pre-Agricultural (Pa) worlds, three Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, one Rich (Ri) world, and three Industrial (In) worlds. The governments in Anarsi maintain 11 Scout bases, five Naval bases, and two Corsair bases. The average technology level is 9 (with most between 7 and 11). The highest technology level is 15 at Nashazi (Vland 1909).

Anarsi, subsector C of Vland contains 60 stars and 423 identified planets; 27 monostellar systems, 15 binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 24 of the 43 systems (55%) have native gas giants. There are two Asteroid (As) belts, five Desert (De) worlds, one Garden (Ga) world, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, eight Poor (Po) worlds, four Vacuum (Va) worlds, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Anarsi has an estimated population of 29 billion distributed across four High population (Hi) worlds, three Moderate population (Ph) worlds, 17 Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, 14 Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Morimur (Vland 2008). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Comp-Prog-Dav-R-Deitrick-Starter-Trav-Page-16 16-July-2018a.jpg

The Ancients were active in the region, transplanting humans from Terra onto Ronni and Terran Dolphins onto Newcastle.

The entire subsector was a human-dominated area under the Ziru Sirka, with settlements dotted across the region. Vargr began moving to rimward during the Rule of Man but by the time they reached Vland Sector their numbers were widely dispersed among the many worlds they had overrun. As groups moved deeper into the human heartlands they met increasingly capable resistance and a de-facto human-Vargr border region was established, running through the coreward part of the subsector. As the slow collapse of the Long Night began, raids and attacks into each faction's territory were common. These only served to destroy the infrastructure of the region and increase the economic and commercial decay.

The whole region (particularly those worlds that had been occupied and pillaged by the Vargr) regressed during the Long Night and many became barren. Towards the end of the era Sylean Federation jump technology became increasingly available to both the humans and Vargr within the area, and worlds began to be recontacted, claimed, and settled by both races. By the time the young Imperium formally annexed the subsector, the Vargr within the region were capable, surprisingly well organized, and well-enough equipped to halt further easy Imperial expansion. The coreward edge of the subsector became the border of the Imperium.

The Anarsi Subsector is defended by 247th Fleet.
