The star Algenib (otherwise known as Gamma Pegasi) is a blue to blue-white Beta Cepheid variable type star of spectral classification B2 that has begun to move off the main sequence into the subgiant phase of its stellar evolution. It should not be confused with the F5 Ib supergiant star Mirfak (also called Alpha Persei) that is sometimes also attributed with the name Algenib.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Algenib star system lies approximately 120.0pc from Terra, and is located in a Corespinward/Spinward direction from Terra at bearing 109.4o Galactic Longitude and -46.7o South Galactic Latitude.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Despite the similarity in name, this star is NOT the central star of the Algenib/Imaka (Fornast 0526) system.
