System Data

Shi'ik-Aik'sha System

The primary is Shi'ik, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 1.21 Sols, a mass of 1.04 Sols, and a diameter of 1.433 million km. The inner system consists of (II) a vacuum inner world, and (III) an exotic atmosphere radworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (IV) Aik'sha orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (V-I) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V-II) an exotic atmosphere stormworld, (VI) a dense stony planetoid belt, (VII-I) a ringed large gas giant, (VII-II) a small gas giant, and (X) a ringed large gas giant form the outer system – orbital positions (VIII) and (IX) are empty. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Has'ai Subsystem

The companion is Has'ai, a tiny dwarf star lying approximately 15,600 AU (2.33 trillion km) from Shi'ik. It has a luminosity of 0.00003 Sols, a mass of 1.12 Sols, and a diameter of 8,450 km. It does not retain a planetary system.

Mainworld Data

(IV) Aik'sha

(IV) Aik'sha is designated the mainworld. It orbits Shi'ik at a mean distance of 0.96 AU (143.6 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 336 days 21 hours and a rotation period of 23 hours. The axial tilt is 22 degrees. Aik'sha has a diameter of 13,275 km, a density of 4.66 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.88 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.72 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen (N₂), 19% oxygen (O₂), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H₂O), carbon dioxide (CO₂), ozone (O₃), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 92% of the surface is covered in oceans of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.5m. Mean surface temperature: 3°C. The climate is rated as Temperate-Cool and experiences moderate seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans work across the globe.

Shi'ik-Aik'sha System

Aik'sha, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (V-I) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the system is known to have native life.

No native life is known to exist within the subsystem.
