An Aktiengesellschaft or AG is an old Terran German language term, still recognized, for a corporation, usually a publically traded one.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

AG is an abbreviation for the term Aktiengesellschaft, which translates as shares of a business association. The AG is applied after the company name when it is created or registered as a corporation.

A public limited company is an organization whose securities are traded on a stock exchange and can be bought and sold by anyone, subject to conditions of limited liability (the organization is a separate legal entity from its owners and shareholders and shields them from personal liability). Public companies are strictly regulated and are required by law to publish their complete and true financial position so that investors can determine the real worth of their stock.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

A number of contemporary corporations have kept the term "AG", including non-Solomani ones, since the Terran German culture still holds a reputation for industriousness.
