History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The fleet admirals have traditionally commanded from one of the battle squadrons. The Tech-16 million ton dreadnoughts are quite impressive. Political loyalty and reliability are critical considerations for the officers entrusted with such powerful weapons of state. Since the emperors of the flag and the civil wars, well connected noble families vie for the opportunity to influence the use and deployment of these powerful reserves. Located so far from the frontier they are much sought after to reinforce this action or that, internal politics can be just as dangerous as external threats to the Imperium. Nobles compete to arrange training schedules with the colonial squadrons they provide. They want the contracts for maintenance and resupply which are an economic boon.
